The Allegheny Health Network (AHN) operates a robust physician and paramedic response vehicle program. Select paramedics go through an extended credentialing process and are then assigned to areas of need. The paramedics support operational EMS programs at various locations and assist in the delivery of advanced life support care. Resident physicians will be assigned to one of several response vehicles. Initially, these physicians will respond in tandem with the paramedic and experience the challenges associated with out of hospital "quick response." Future EMS Fellows physicians and senior residents enrolled in the Assistant Medical Director program will have the opportunity to provide support to several prehospital programs affiliated with the Allegheny Health Network. Prehospital response vehicles are currently based out of AHN Forbes Hospital, AHN Allegheny Valley Hospital, and at locations in North Huntington, Belle Vernon, the Alle-Kiski Valley, and Wexford.
